Myst III on Windows 2000
I have loaded the game myst III and the patch 1.1 for windows im running it with windows 2000 pro and the det 3 12.40 driver it seems to run fine but it only gives me the option to run in D3D or software, and i know it can run in opengl as i also have it on my mac ibook and it has opengl option there. does anyone

I have not been able to get Myst III working on RC-1. Never even attempted it with earlier versions. After install there is an error message for a missing file. I put the file where it belongs. (UBI?.exe goes into /windows/system32). First I did a minimal install and when that fails I did a full (2+ Gig) install.

I saw a few things that you might think are interesting. one is that Mercedes is Releasing an Xbox Game. Mercedes usually makes really good cars, bikes, etc... I'm expecting this to be good. XP is nt 5.1 win2k was nt5 however, they less incommon than you might think. i have no problems with any of the three myst games on my XP Pro machine.They work fine except I can't use my wacom graphics tablet for Real Myst and Myst Exile III. AFAIK it's identical to Myst III on PC, so I guess any reviews (on the gameplay, etc - maybe not the graphics?) as well as walkthroughs would apply to the XBox version equally. ted.h. I had a couple of crashes early on in Myst III. After thus training me to save often, the game never crashed again. My computer is different, but my GeForce 2 has more Ram. I have Myst III slow down to a crawl a couple of times under W2K, and have learned to get out. I then boot to W98 where it works fine.
